COMPLEX CHRONIC ILLNESS SUPPORT

You have not been given up on here.

If you have spent years moving through the medical system, collecting appointments, and leaving with more questions than answers…this page is for you.

If you have been told your symptoms are too complicated, too diffuse, or too difficult to pin down…this page is for you.

If you have been handed a label, fibromyalgia, IBS, anxiety, chronic fatigue, and felt that the label was a door closing rather than one opening…this page is for you.

I know this experience from the inside. I live with complex chronic health conditions myself, and I have navigated the same dismissals, the same bloodwork that shows nothing, the same exhausting process of having to become the expert on my own body because no one else was willing to be. I found real, functional relief. And I believe you can too.

Herbal medicine and homeopathy do not treat disease in the way that conventional medicine does. I want to be clear about that from the start. I do not cure conditions, and I do not make promises that the medical system itself has been unable to keep.

What I offer is something different, and in many cases, something more suited to the nature of these conditions.

Complex chronic illness is rarely a single thing with a single cause. It is layered, relational, often rooted in the nervous system, the immune system, the gut, and the history of the person carrying it. Trauma lives in the body. Dysregulation compounds over time. And the whole person, not just the symptomatic system, needs to be seen for any meaningful shift to happen.

This is not new thinking. Indigenous medicine traditions, herbal medicine, and homeopathy have understood this for centuries. The whole person is the patient. The goal is not to suppress symptoms but to work with the body’s own intelligence toward greater resilience, regulation, and relief.

Alongside and in support of whatever conventional care you are already receiving, herbal medicine and homeopathy can offer:

– Support for the nervous system and the stress response, which underlies so many complex conditions
– Targeted plant medicines with evidence-informed applications for inflammation, immune dysregulation, and fatigue
– Homeopathic support, particularly valuable for those who are highly reactive or sensitive to conventional interventions
– Adaptogenic herbs to build resilience and capacity over time
– Nutritional and lifestyle guidance grounded in both traditional knowledge and current research
– A practitioner who will actually read your history, sit with your complexity, and stay with you over time

I work alongside your existing care team. I do not ask you to choose between approaches. I ask only that you bring your whole self, and your whole history, to our work together.

Herbal medicine and homeopathy can offer:

Support for the nervous system and the stress response

Targeted plant medicines for inflammation, immune dysregulation, and fatigue

Homeopathic support, particularly for highly reactive or sensitive systems

Adaptogenic herbs to build resilience and capacity over time

Nutritional and lifestyle guidance grounded in traditional knowledge and current research

A practitioner who will stay with you over time

Conditions I have particular focus on

together.

Fibromyalgia

What we do know is that fibromyalgia involves central sensitization, a nervous system that has learned to amplify pain signals. We also know that inflammation, gut health, sleep, and trauma history are all deeply connected to how it presents and progresses.

Herbal medicine offers meaningful support here, particularly nervines and adaptogens that work with the nervous system over time, anti-inflammatory plant medicines, and gut-supportive herbs that address the microbiome disruptions commonly found alongside fibromyalgia.

MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome)

What makes MCAS particularly challenging from a treatment perspective is sensitivity. Many people with MCAS react to medications, supplements, and even some herbs. This is where the integration of modern homeopathy becomes especially valuable, offering support that is tolerable even for the most reactive systems.

Plant-derived compounds including quercetin, which is found in many medicinal plants, have strong evidence for mast cell stabilization. Building a protocol that is gentle, layered, and responsive to your specific reactivity pattern is the work we do together.

POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)

POTS is a form of dysautonomia, a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system that regulates heart rate, blood pressure, and many of the body’s automatic functions. Standing up becomes an act of significant physiological effort. Fatigue, brain fog, heart palpitations, and dizziness are daily companions.

Herbal medicine can support the cardiovascular system, the nervous system, and the adrenal response. Adaptogens are particularly relevant here, helping to build the body’s capacity to regulate itself more effectively over time.

Chronic Fatigue / ME-CFS

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, is a condition characterized by profound, unrelenting fatigue that is not improved by rest, post-exertional malaise, cognitive difficulty, and a range of other systemic symptoms.

Herbal medicine, particularly medicinal mushrooms and adaptogens, has meaningful evidence for supporting mitochondrial function, immune modulation, and cognitive clarity. I work with these carefully and progressively, always with attention to where you are in your capacity on any given day.

Long COVID

The patterns of Long COVID overlap significantly with ME-CFS and MCAS, and the herbal and homeopathic tools that support those conditions are deeply relevant here as well. Anti-inflammatory plant medicines, nervous system support, and immune modulators are at the core of this work.

If you are navigating Long COVID and finding that conventional medicine has little to offer beyond time and rest, I want you to know there are tools that may help, and a practitioner willing to work with you.

Diabetes

Diabetes, both Type 1 and Type 2, exists at the intersection of blood sugar regulation, inflammation, gut health, and lifestyle, and herbal medicine has a long and evidence-rich history of supporting all of these. I do not work in place of insulin or other essential medications. I work alongside them, supporting the body systems that diabetes affects and addressing the broader terrain of health that influences how the condition progresses.

Adaptogenic herbs, bitter plants that support glucose metabolism, and anti-inflammatory medicines are central to this work. So is the relationship between stress, the nervous system, and blood sugar regulation, which is often underaddressed in conventional diabetes management.

Cancer Support

Cancer is not something I treat. I want to be clear about that. What I offer is support for people living with cancer, moving through treatment, and rebuilding after it.

Medicinal mushrooms, including reishi, lion’s mane, turkey tail, and chaga, have some of the strongest evidence in herbal medicine for immune support alongside conventional oncology treatment. Adaptogens support resilience and energy through demanding treatment protocols. Nervines support the emotional and nervous system toll that a cancer diagnosis and treatment carry.

IBS / IBD

The gut is increasingly understood as central to nearly every aspect of health, from immune function to mood to inflammation. IBS and IBD are conditions where that centrality becomes impossible to ignore. They are also conditions where the conventional toolkit is often limited, and where herbal medicine has centuries of evidence and a great deal to offer.

Gut-supportive, anti-inflammatory, and nervine herbs are the foundation of this work. So is understanding the relationship between the gut and the nervous system, the gut-brain axis, and addressing both ends of that connection. Microbiome support, food relationships, and the role of stress in gut function are all part of how I approach this work.

How we work together

Working with complex chronic illness requires patience, from both of us. These are not
conditions that resolve in a few appointments. I ask that you come to this work with realistic
expectations and a willingness to stay with a process over time.

1

Initial consultation — $175

We go deep into your history, your current picture, your previous attempts at treatment, and what you are hoping for. I prepare thoroughly before we meet, and I ask that you do too. Reading the relevant condition pages on this site is a good place to start. I have forms that will give me a picture of where you are starting from. Filling these out at least a few days in advance will allow me to take the time to know a bit about your experience of your health. I won’t rely solely on these, but it will allow me to make the best use of our time together. I want to really hear you…and it starts with those forms. Where appropriate, you will leave this first appointment with some preparatory herbs or homeopathics to take for two weeks. These will support the eliminatory organs, making sure the liver, kidneys, and skin are well enough to handle a treatment protocol. These are an important first step that almost every client will work with before our second appointment.

2

First follow up — $90

During this appointment, we review how the cleanse and eliminatory organ treatment went. We adjust our procedure based on what we learn about how your body interacts with these remedies. At this first follow up, we review several first steps that we will take to help you see improvements. Often this involves addressing digestion if we see any need to support the digestive system. Herbs can’t get in to do their work if you can’t digest them properly. Following our initial consultation and this first follow up, I prepare a written plan that outlines the herbs, homeopathic supports, nutritional considerations, and lifestyle approaches I am recommending, with explanations for each choice so you understand not just what, but why.

3

Custom-formulated remedies

Where appropriate, I prepare medicines specifically for you, formulated for your picture, not a generic version of your diagnosis. Some people require tinctures with no alcohol. Some will work best with those tinctures. Some people will require special herbal blends in capsule form. I custom make these to see the best results.

4

Ongoing follow up appointments — $90

We check in regularly, adjust the protocol as your body responds, and stay in relationship with your process over time. These conditions shift. Our approach shifts with them. After the first follow up, which is typically two weeks from the initial consult, we slowly space out our appointments to give time for the remedies to work. Four to six weeks for the second follow up, and three to six months for the third, are common.

5

Telehealth available

I offer virtual consultations by phone or video, and I ship custom formulations across Canada. Geography is not a barrier. I know some days your body will not even allow you to get up, let alone get to an appointment. My apothecary is out of the way for most people. Though there is real benefit in coming here to the land, there is medicine that comes simply from being here, it is okay if you can’t drive, or just can’t get out of the house. Mothers, students, work commitments…these are real. I respect your need for support, and your life’s demands.

Before you book

I ask that you read the condition-specific sections of this site that are most relevant to you. Not because I need you to arrive as an expert, but because I find that clients who understand something of the approach get far more from our time together. You deserve to understand what you are stepping into, and why.

When you feel ready…I would be honoured to hear your story.
